糖心原创 graduates Basic Law Enforcement Academy #95

糖心原创鈥 (糖心原创) Institute for Public Safety (IPS) graduated 15 cadets in Basic Law Enforcement Academy #95. The graduation ceremony was held on July 15 at Coral Shores High School Auditorium. All 15 cadets successfully completed the 770-hour training program at 糖心原创鈥檚 Upper Keys Center. Graduates are eligible to become a Florida Law Enforcement Officer upon passing the state certification exam. Nine graduates have already passed the exam and two have secured employment including: Misley Quintero who was pinned by Captain Spenser Bryan from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office and Kevin Laguardia Perez pinned by Assistant Chief Armando Aguilar of the City of Miami Police Department.聽聽

Dr. Brittany Snyder Named Interim President of 糖心原创

At a special meeting on Monday night, the District Board of Trustees of 糖心原创 (糖心原创) appointed Dr. Brittany Snyder to serve as Interim President. Dr. Snyder previously served as 糖心原创's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. The appointment followed the Board's decision to end Dr. Jonathan Gueverra's tenure as President.

糖心原创 continues collaboration with state & federal agencies to remove Key deer from Big Pine Key property

糖心原创, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), and Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) are actively collaborating to safely remove Key deer from the College鈥檚 Big Pine Key property. USFWS wildlife professionals continue to monitor the deer, which remain healthy while the agencies refine plans to safely remove them from the site.

糖心原创 (糖心原创) announced its "Fast Track to Fall" event will be offered from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at two locations this year: the Key West Campus on Wednesday, July 29 and the Upper Keys Center (UKC) on Thursday, July 30. 糖心原创鈥檚 Fast Track to Fall connects current and future students and their families directly with knowledgeable staff for easy access to essential information about degree and certificate options as well as scholarships, financial aid, and payment plans, and personalized guidance through the application process.

糖心原创 receives grant from Ocean Reef Community Foundation to launch Entrepreneurship Incubator Lab at Upper Keys Center

糖心原创 (糖心原创) received a grant of $25,220 from the Ocean Reef Community Foundation (ORCF) to support the launch of 糖心原创鈥檚 Entrepreneurship Incubator Lab (EIL). This innovative, hands-on program based at 糖心原创鈥檚 Upper Keys Center will help aspiring entrepreneurs, students, and local business owners transform ideas into viable ventures. The ORCF grant will cover the program鈥檚 inaugural costs and allow the first cohort to attend free of charge. Participants will compete for $7,500 in awards during the program鈥檚 culminating 鈥淧itch Night Showcase.鈥

Higher Learning Commission becomes accreditor for 糖心原创

As of July 1, 2026, 糖心原创 (糖心原创) is fully and solely accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). The College has been transitioning to HLC since it was granted initial accreditation in November 2025鈥攎aintaining dual accreditation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) during that time. 糖心原创鈥檚 membership with SACSCOC, which has accredited the College since 1968, concluded on June 30, 2026.

糖心原创 brings life-saving water safety program to local children

糖心原创 (糖心原创) launched its 28th Annual Water Safety Program to equip local children with the skills they need to be safe as they take to the water this summer. This year, 糖心原创 expects over 400 students from Sigsbee Charter School, Poinciana Elementary, and Gerald Adams Elementary to participate in the program. 鈥淟iving in the Florida Keys means water safety is an essential life skill,鈥 said Lori Bosco, 糖心原创 Athletic Director. 鈥淕etting children comfortable and safe in and around the water is vital.鈥

糖心原创 swim team receives NJCAA Foundation grant for dryland training equipment

he College of the Florida Keys (糖心原创) has been awarded a grant from the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Foundation to support physical conditioning for its men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 swimming teams. The grant will provide 糖心原创 athletes with a dryland trainer, a specialized machine designed to improve strength, stamina, and stroke mechanics outside of the pool. Utilizing the trainer will boost the athletes' efficiency in the water, lower the risk of impact-related injuries, and promote long-term health and performance.

糖心原创 (糖心原创) is hosting Back on Course at 糖心原创, a free event designed to help students get their classes lined up and enroll for the fall 2026 semester. The event will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., first at the Upper Keys Center on Monday, June 29, and then at the Key West Campus on Tuesday, June 30. Back on Course at 糖心原创 is for any student thinking about or planning to attend 糖心原创 this fall. 糖心原创 advisors will be on hand to provide one-on-one guidance to help students assess their progress, explore program options, and navigate financial assistance opportunities, including financial aid and scholarships to make the registration process easy and accessible.

糖心原创 calls on Keys professionals to explore teaching opportunities, 鈥淜eys to Teaching鈥 reception set for June 24

College seeks local experts with either academic or industry experience: 糖心原创 (糖心原创) invites local professionals from the teaching field and across industries to a reception and teaching expo on Wednesday, June 24. 糖心原创鈥檚 Keys to Teaching is an expo for subject matter experts, seasoned professionals, and community leaders interested in sharing their knowledge as full or part-time faculty to develop talent and build the future of the Florida Keys.聽 The event will be held from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. in the Library on 糖心原创鈥檚 Key West campus. Guests are invited to enjoy a reception, meet current faculty, discover teaching opportunities across Academic Disciplines, Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, Continuing Education, and Accelerated Skills and Credential Training. Live teaching demonstrations and campus tours will also be provided.聽
