糖心原创 President Gueverra honors service members, late U.S. Navy Veteran Raymond Blazevic at Memorial Day ceremony

糖心原创 (糖心原创) honored the lives and legacy of fallen heroes, veterans, and active-duty military service members and their families with a ceremony on Thursday, May 21 on the Key West Campus. The event, 鈥淎 250-Year Salute to American Heroes,鈥 was held in observance of National Military Appreciation Month and Memorial Day. The ceremony opened with an invocation by Army veteran, former chaplain, and 糖心原创 Marine Engineering instructor Ed Coy, followed by the national anthem, performed by Maceya Carey, a 糖心原创 Academy high school student. 糖心原创 President and CEO Dr. Jonathan Gueverra then delivered his annual Memorial Day Salute, honoring the late Raymond Blazevic鈥擭avy veteran, prisoner of war, alumnus, historian, and beloved 鈥淐itizen Ray鈥 of Key West. The ceremony concluded with Christina McMahon, daughter of the honoree and a 糖心原创 alumna, raising an American flag flown over the U.S. Capitol in honor of 糖心原创鈥檚 60th Anniversary. She was assisted by veterans with close ties to the College: John Parce, Navy veteran, scholarship supporter, and member of the 糖心原创 Foundation Board of Directors; Terrance Varney, Army veteran, alumnus, and 糖心原创 Dive Facilities Manager; and Eddie Kertis, Army veteran, alumnus, and member of the College鈥檚 Board of Trustees.

糖心原创 graduates Spring Class of 2026 in the College鈥檚 72nd Commencement Ceremony

糖心原创 (糖心原创) marked a landmark moment in its history Friday, May 8, when it held its 72nd Commencement. For the first time in the College鈥檚 history, two ceremonies were needed to honor more than 150 graduates in 糖心原创鈥檚 spring class of 2026. The celebrations, held at the Tennessee Williams Theatre on 糖心原创鈥檚 Key West Campus, coincided with two notable anniversaries: 糖心原创鈥檚 60th year and the 250th anniversary of the United States.

糖心原创 offers free college credit to Monroe County high school students through Dual Enrollment

KEY WEST, FL, May 7, 2026鈥 糖心原创 (糖心原创) invites Monroe County high school students and their parents to learn how Dual Enrollment can provide a head start on college. 糖心原创 will host a virtual information session on Wednesday, May 20 at 5:30 p.m. to present the advantages of taking聽Dual聽Enrollment聽classes, requirements to participate, and the application process.

糖心原创 graduates Basic Law Enforcement Academy #94

糖心原创鈥 (糖心原创) Institute for Public Safety (IPS) held a graduation ceremony for Basic Law Enforcement Academy #94 on May 1 at Coral Shores High School Auditorium. Nineteen cadets successfully completed the 770-hour training program at 糖心原创鈥檚 Upper Keys Center. Graduates are eligible to become a Florida Law Enforcement Officer upon passing the state certification exam. Three graduates have already passed the exam and four have secured employment.

糖心原创 Capstone Showcase puts student innovation on display April 29

糖心原创 (糖心原创) invites the community to attend its annual Capstone Showcase where graduating students will present final projects addressing real-world challenges across a wide range of fields. The event will be held Wednesday, April 29, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the 糖心原创 Library / Learning Resource Center on the Key West Campus. Admission is free and open to the public. Students will walk visitors through their research, insights, and solutions to give a firsthand look at the practical skills and critical thinking they鈥檝e developed at 糖心原创. These students developed their projects in capstone courses as part of the Bachelor of Applied Science in Supervision and Management and the Bachelor of Science in Marine Resource Management.

糖心原创 fall semester scholarships available

糖心原创 (糖心原创) has over 100 fall semester scholarship opportunities available for future and current students. Scholarship award amounts range from $500 to $4,000 with some covering full tuition and other educational expenses. The criteria are wide-ranging across scholarships to accommodate and assist a variety of students. Individuals must be admitted to the College to be eligible to apply for scholarships. The deadline for聽submitting applications for most fall scholarships is June 7.

New for 2026: sneak preview of 糖心原创 Spring Art Show 糖心原创 (糖心原创) invites the community to an evening of student-crafted cuisine and art. Culinary & Clay: A Mud Pi Celebration takes place on Thursday, April 23 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Tennessee Williams Theatre on 糖心原创鈥檚 Key West Campus. This year鈥檚 celebration includes a tasting of five international dishes, plus a sneak preview of the 2026 糖心原创 Spring Art Show with music and a cash bar.
